Revitalizing Neighborhoods, One Block at a Time
At House Proud, we believe in the power of community. For years, we’ve worked to ensure that vulnerable seniors, veterans, and disabled residents in Atlanta can continue to live in their homes with dignity and safety. Our mission is simple: to provide no-cost home repairs for those in need, allowing them to age in place. Over the years, our efforts have transformed homes, strengthened neighborhoods, and made Atlanta a better place for everyone.
One of the most exciting ways we do this is through our signature event, House Party. This unique, community-driven event brings together corporate sponsors, volunteers, and neighbors to revitalize an entire block in one of Atlanta’s neighborhoods. It’s a day filled with hard work, collaboration, and fun. By the end of the day, we’ve not only transformed homes but also built lasting connections within the community. Here’s how House Party works and how you can get involved.
A Recap of House Proud’s Impact in Atlanta
House Proud has been working in Atlanta for over two decades, providing vital home repairs to some of the city’s most vulnerable residents. Our work focuses on three key areas: keeping homes warm, safe, and dry. This means repairing roofs, replacing heating systems, fixing plumbing, and making homes more accessible for seniors and disabled residents.
By partnering with contractors, volunteers, and local community organizations, House Proud has repaired hundreds of homes, ensuring that seniors, veterans, and disabled adults can continue living in the homes they’ve built for years. Our services have helped individuals stay in their neighborhoods, maintain a sense of stability, and live independently. We also provide valuable educational resources to help homeowners maintain their homes and understand their rights.
House Party is an extension of our commitment to the community. It’s not just about repairs; it’s about bringing people together to help each other and transform neighborhoods into stronger, safer, and more connected communities.
How House Party Works: Work Hard, Party Hard
House Party is a day dedicated to revitalizing an entire block in one of Atlanta’s neighborhoods. The day begins with volunteers and corporate sponsors coming together to complete critical home repairs for homeowners in need. The focus is on repairs that will make a significant impact on safety, comfort, and accessibility.
- Painting: Volunteers help repaint homes, restoring their exterior beauty and protecting the house from the elements.
- Planting: Gardeners and volunteers plant flowers and trees to improve curb appeal and create more vibrant communities.
- Home Repairs: Skilled contractors, alongside volunteers, tackle essential repairs like fixing steps, installing handrails, or replacing rotting wood.
Once the work is done, it’s time to party! We wrap up the day with some well-deserved relaxation. Volunteers are treated to back massages, refreshments, and a chance to connect at House Proud’s headquarters. It’s a celebration of all the hard work that’s been done and a moment to appreciate the difference we’ve made together. House Party is not only about improving homes but also about enjoying the camaraderie that comes from working side by side with others to create positive change.
