The Same House x House Proud

Beloved Benefit Beacon Grant

As House Proud enters the Beloved Benefit Beacon voting period, we are reminded of the incredible impact that community-driven organizations can have when they come together to support one another. Being nominated for this benefit alongside organizations like Must Ministries and PAWkids is a true honor and while it’s a competition where only one group will win the grant, The Same House’s recognition of us is a testament to the power of collaboration and collective action.

At House Proud, we help seniors, veterans, and disabled homeowners stay in their homes by providing no-cost home repairs—whether it’s fixing a leaking roof, installing an accessible ramp, or simply ensuring that a home is safe, warm, and dry. But this work doesn’t stop with the physical repairs. The Beloved Benefit Beacon grant gives us the opportunity to expand our impact, securing the funding we need to keep working, especially in neighborhoods facing rapid change.

What is The Same House?

The Same House is a shining example of what it means to build inclusive, resilient communities. Their work centers around elevating individuals and organizations that are tackling some of the most pressing issues in our society. Their commitment to strengthening neighborhoods and uplifting those who need it most perfectly aligns with House Proud’s mission. Both The Same House and House Proud are deeply invested in fighting the effects of gentrification and providing critical resources to those who are often left behind. This is why the Beloved Benefit is so important—because it empowers organizations like ours and The Same House to continue their essential work, allowing us to serve more people and extend our reach.

Rodney Bullard, a visionary leader, has been instrumental in shaping The Same House’s approach to fostering unity and economic mobility. His leadership has transformed the Beloved Benefit into a catalyst for change, bringing together diverse communities to support nonprofits making tangible differences in people’s lives.

In a city where disparities often persist, initiatives like the Beloved Benefit and organizations like The Same House remind us that we are indeed “one people, one family, living in the same house.”
